A Lifetime of Woodturning and Woodworking
Robert Rosand began working with wood as a child and now, for well over twenty years has been woodturner, teacher, demonstrator, and writer on the subject of his craft. Most of his articles can be found in past issues of the American Woodturner. Bob has served as vice president and member of the board of directors for the American Association of Woodturners.
Accomplishments and Appearances
Bob has demonstrated for numerous local American Association of Woodturners chapters and has demonstrated at several national AAW symposiums. In 2005 he was the featured demonstrator at the 20th Annual National Symposium in Overland Park, Kansas.
His works are in private collections throughout the United States , Europe and Japan. A Christmas tree ornament turned by Robert and painted by his wife was selected to be placed on one of the White House Christmas trees. His turnings have been accepted in exhibitions such as "Woodturning: Vision and Concept II", Gaitlinburg, TN, "Turned for Use", "Put A Lid On It", and "Re-Turn to Oz" sponsored by the AAW.
Lifelong Partners
Robert has been married to his wife, Susan for over thirty years. Susan is a talented artist, and they occasionally combine their talents on collaborative pieces. They live in the woods of Pennsylvania in a home that they built.
